Opened in December 1958, Tokyo Tower has been watching over Tokyo in Shiba Park for over 60 years. The 150-meter-high main deck is a dynamic, dynamic place to watch over Tokyo. The 250-meter top deck, which allows you to feel the three-dimensional effect up close, is an α value-added observation deck. You can experience this with a top deck tour that enhances the Lights essential to Tokyo's nightscape The tower is also used for seasonal events and other activities to provide visitors with a sense of comfort and relaxation.

Description

Tokyo Tower was established as a general radio tower and tourism facility in December 1958. It is 333 meters in height and weighs approximately 4,000 tons. Various Japanese technologies were brought together to build the tower, and it was completed in just a year and a half. As it was the first skyscraper to be built in Japan, a country prone to natural disasters, a construction site was chosen in the Shiba Park area, where the ground is firm. The foundation of the tower base extends 20 meters deep into the ground, and the tower itself is designed to withstand strong winds of up to 90 meters per second. In order to maintain the steel frame and preserve its appearance, the tower has been painted once every five years since it opened, and all of the work is done by hand. It takes approximately 34,000 liters of paint to paint the tower. Traditional craftsmanship has always been essential for the maintenance of the tower. Tokyo Tower has also appeared in numerous cultural and artistic works such as movies, anime, and novels, leaving a deep impression through these works not only on the Japanese but also throughout the world. The illumination of the tower, which started in 1989 (Heisei 1 in the imperial calendar), is said to have permanently changed the nighttime landscape of Tokyo and made the tower even more iconic.
